2002 — present

How it began

Our journey with Ibizan Hounds began on the Fayetteville Square in 2002, with a chance meeting that quietly changed the rest of our lives.

Jason and I live in Northwest Arkansas, where our journey with Ibizan Hounds began in 2002 after meeting our first Ibizan, Chewy, on the Fayetteville Square. That single encounter sparked what would become a lifelong passion for this elegant and captivating breed. In April of 2003, Lwynd joined our family — and from that moment on, our lives were forever changed.

What I love most about the Ibizan Hound is its incredible versatility. Few breeds can transition so effortlessly from the conformation ring to the lure coursing field, then spend the afternoon swimming at “L-Wynd Island” on Beaver Lake before curling up on the couch with the family. They are athletes, hunters, companions, and gentle souls all wrapped into one remarkable breed.

Lwynd was truly my foundation and my inspiration. I began showing her in conformation at just 9 months old and soon after discovered the excitement of lure coursing. She became my magic key — opening doors to experiences, accomplishments, friendships, and opportunities I could never have imagined in the dog world. Along the way, I’ve also had the pleasure of training and showing English Pointers, Keeshonds, and several other breeds, but the Ibizan Hound has always held my heart.

Our approach

Preservation, not production.

For more than 20 years, preservation breeding has been at the heart of my life with Ibizan Hounds. My goal has never been simply to produce beautiful dogs, but to carefully preserve the essence of this extraordinary breed — sound structure, athletic ability, stable temperament, instinct, and the unmistakable spirit that makes an Ibizan Hound unlike any other.

At L-Wynd Ibizans, every breeding is planned with purpose and respect for the breed’s history and future. I strive to consistently produce Ibizan Hounds that not only embody the breed standard, but are balanced in both mind and body — dogs capable of excelling in the conformation ring, on the lure coursing field, and as cherished companions in the home. True preservation breeding means protecting the versatility, soundness, and temperament that generations before us worked so hard to establish.

Our dogs are not simply part of a breeding program — they are part of our family, our daily lives, and our legacy. Preservation breeding is about more than ribbons and titles. It is about protecting a breed’s purpose, maintaining its integrity, and ensuring future generations can experience the same sound, beautiful, intelligent Ibizan Hounds that first captured our hearts over two decades ago.

We are proud of what we have built at L-Wynd and grateful for every person who has become part of our journey. We hope you enjoy learning more about our dogs and the breed we are so passionate about.

Foundation of the program

Health testing.

Health and longevity are an essential part of that commitment. I health test in accordance with the recommendations of the Ibizan Hound Club of the United States (IHCUS), because preserving a breed means safeguarding not only its beauty, but its future.
